Firefighters battle barn fire in Purton

A LARGE barn caught fire in Purton this afternoon.
Fire engines from Westlea, Cricklade, Royal Wooton Bassett, Swindon and Stratton fire stations attended the call to the barn on Collins Lane at around 1.30pm this afternoon.
On arrival the firefighters discovered the four-bay barn, which contained agricultural machinery, was well alight, and used four breathing apparatus, one main jet and one main reel to battle the flames.
