Young stylist is cut above the competition

Award-winning apprentice Sarah Abbley at Goldsworthy in Cirencester
A SUPER stylist has trimmed off the competition to be named Most Outstanding Achiever of the Year in the South West.
Hairdressing trainee Sarah Abbley, who works at Goldsworthy’s in Cirencester, wowed the judges with her impressive portfolio and by completing her hairdressing NVQ in record time.
The 19-year-old, who hopes to run her own salon one day, said she was thrilled and surprised to win the prestigious award, presented by Span Training Ltd in a glitzy ceremony earlier this month.
"It came as a shock to everyone because I’d been nominated for the Learner of the Year award, but this one is even better," she said.
It was a huge coup for the small Dyer Street salon, which was also awarded second runner up for Training Salon of the Year.
Goldsworthy’s Cirencester manager Vicky Turner said: "There’s only six of us here, so it’s great to have been recognised against bigger salons for the high quality training we provide."
