A SINGLE mum from South Cerney has swapped her surgical scrubs for glamorous gladrags after being selected to strut her stuff in a new clothing catalogue.

Ruth Simmons said she could not believe her luck at being chosen by clothing firm isme to appear in their new catalogue after she auditioned.

The 46-year-old has been chosen as an 'isme inreality' model and will join five other handpicked women on a panel providing their thoughts on the latest trends to help inspire the designers and clothes on offer.

Ruth will also be modelling and showcasing her favourite pieces from the range and will feature both in the isme catalogue and on the fashion brand's website.

"I thought it would be a fantastic day out - being pampered with hair and make-up, meeting like-minded women, and getting to try on fantastic new clothes and shoes," she said. "Then when I was told I had been selected as a 2012 inreality girl, apart from being incredulous, I was very flattered and excited that I had been chosen."

The mother-of-two gave up a well-paid career in finance three years ago to retrain as an operating department practitioner working in hospital operating theatres.

Ruth said this is the time in her life to really enjoy herself and is always on the lookout for new, exciting challenges.

"I am thrilled to be part of the inreality panel and really excited about what we will be getting up to throughout the year. My children are equally impressed and my daughter is particularly interested in finding out about the photo shoots and clothing choices."
