THE Standard is asking readers to nominate their unsung community heroes this month as we search for Cirencester’s jubilee family.

Preparations for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee weekend starting on June 2 are well underway and the Standard has teamed up with the town council’s Cirencester Sparkles team to launch our search for a jubilee queen, consort, prince and princess.

We want readers to nominate their unsung community heroes as organisers hope to find two adults to take the roles of queen and consort and a prince and princess aged up to 18.

Those chosen will take part in a town centre parade on the actual Jubilee Weekend, June 4, before travelling by horse and carriage to a Picnic in the Park in Abbey Grounds.

The afternoon will feature a mini-pageant celebrating the history of Cirencester with performances from local dance groups and schools. The lucky four will go on to represent Cirencester at future events.

Send your nominations and why you think they deserve to be part of Cirencester's celebrations to Jubilee Family, Wilts and Glos Standard, 74 Dyer Street, Cirencester, Gloucestershire, GL7 2PW or email andrea.glennon@gwent-wales.co.uk
