Police to recommence Cotswold Water Park investigation

TWO police forces are set to team up to delve deeper into Cotswold Water Park.

In a tantalising statement released this week by a senior Gloucestershire police officer it was announced that that an independent review of Gloucestershire police’s investigation into the fraud at the Water Park had identified a number of additional issues to be investigated.

In November it was announced officers from City of London Police were to review the investigation by Gloucestershire police which led to the conviction of former Cotswold Water Park Society boss Dennis Grant.

Grant was jailed in July last year after admitting defrauding the society of more than £660,000, and is currently serving a four year, four month prison sentence.

Gloucestershire police Deputy Chief Constable Mick Matthews said the purpose of the review was to gain an impartial perspective on the investigation.

"The findings of that review have now been provided to us, and it has been recommended that we consider a number of additional issues," he said.

He added that it was decided to ask City of London Police to continue investigating these matters "to ensure an independent and transparent approach".

It is not believed that the results of the review by City of London Police have been seen by anyone apart from senior police officers.

Given the coverage of this issue in the past 18 months and the information and leads readily posted by many on this forum let's hope the City of London rozzers drain the swamp.

Ha ha yet more reviews than the Windmill Theatre in London. Pasties and overtime all-round....Does the City of London Police know where Cirencester is? This is the same Police Force that took 5 years investigating Harry Redknapp for tax avoidance when they should have been investigating why HMRC's landlords are based in a tax haven ....dont hold your breath about an outcome although it would be nice to see what GCC have been up to as "Public Servants"........

I expect they requested the same team of oficers who investigated Harry Redknapp's dog and found absolutely nothing that would stand up in court.
Send in Desmond Jenkins the Miss Marple of Somerford Keyes, the Jasper Carrot or Robert Powell of the Detectives, the super sloof of Lake 31.
Deputise him and round up the pussie, I mean Posie and go and kick as.

If the fraud and conspiracy is as wide as some people believe then an external Police force who specialise in financial crime and corruption in large institutions is the right tactic. Freemasons need not be on the team.

The Lake 31 infill fiasco appears to have been a scam to avoid landfill tax so why not start there?....afterall there is 1,500 pages of mainly false testimony which was aired at St. Esmond's recent martyrdom which could prove very useful to a criminal inquiry.

Truth will come to light, in the end truth will out.

There is a damning clue in the secret agreements between conman Dennis Grant and Watermark - apparently sanctioned by GCC - that recently came to light.
Either the Gloucestershire plods were too dim or, possibly, deliberately blinkered to spot this glaring evidence so let's hope the City of London guys are a bit smarter.
If I can assist by pointing them in the right direction, they should get out their magnifying glasses and look at the"Supplemental Agreement" dated 25 February 2010 - halfway down the final page to be precise - Clause 6.1.
It is significant that the tell-tale clause was drawn up only days before fraudster Dennis faced the final showdown at the public meeting at at a time when his back was against the wall and he sent out an email plea to his Water Park cronies to come to his assistance.
Since the aptly named "Grant" money had already been paid over and was in his personal bank account, how could that clause possibly have come into existence?
Answers on a postcard please..........

It was "Grant Money" all along, no wonder Denis thought it was his to do as he liked with.
Luckily he took it and invested it wisely, i'e not in Iceland, so we'll get it back.

"Freemasons need not be on the team"
But they will be if the Police are involved...yes it would be good to have a an organisation that specialises in financial crime and corruption ... we have one its called "Government"........
.and please no more about the overbearing bore Jenkins....
Write directly to The Chief Exec of GCC with an FOI request....
