RESIDENTS in Tetbury could see no increase in their council tax in April after the town council voted not to increase its precept in the next financial year.
The precept – a sum of money added to council tax to fund town council services – will be maintained at its current level until April 2013.
As Cotswold District Council has promised not to increase council tax next year, Tetbury residents may see no increase in their rate in April, depending on whether Gloucestershire County Council decides to increase its precept.
Tetbury mayor Cllr Rob McCorkell said he hoped the decision would help residents in the current economic climate.
