FOUR men have been arrested for a quad bike theft in Eastleach.
The quad was stolen from a farm at around 9.50pm on Sunday (January 22) and was later found in Wiltshire along with another suspected stolen vehicle.
Two men from Gloucester, aged 21 and 23, a 22-year-old man from Merthyr Tydfil and a 22-year-old man from Swindon were arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle in connection with the incident and have been bailed to attend Cheltenham Police Station on March 21, pending further inquiries.
Force Rural and Environmental Crime Officer PC John Palfrey said: “The rural crime conference was held in the county last week, during which the issue of quad bike thefts and the success we and our partner agencies have been having tackling it was highlighted.
“The progress we have made in this case is an excellent example of our joint up approach with neighbouring forces and the great working relationship we have fostered with the farming community. I also hope it shows how seriously we take rural crime.”
