VOLUNTEERS are being asked to come forward to help run a new charity shop in Moreton-in-Marsh.

The Mind charity shop opened on the High Street on December 8 and stocks a rage of Christmas cards and gifts, along with winter woollens, jewellery and a range of other items.

Shop manager Carole Clemons said she hoped the Moreton community would be willing to support the store, either through volunteering, donations or just popping in for a look around.

"I'm so excited to be opening the store in time for Christmas, as charity shops are an ideal place to look for stocking fillers, vintage gifts and one-off pieces at affordable prices,” she said.

“Many people are keen to get involved with charities at Christmas, and shopping at the new Mind store is a great way of doing that.

“The proceeds of all our sales go towards helping the one in four people who experience mental health problems.

“As we are new in the community we would be thrilled to get our first team of volunteers together to get involved in the running of the store.

“Even if you only have an hour to give each week or weekend, there is always something we can find for you to get stuck into.

“Many people consider volunteering and are just waiting for the right time or opportunity to come up, so if this is you do come and visit us at the Mind shop."

Mind supports people with mental health problems, both through support and information as well as campaigning.
