A NATIONWIDE project to re-write the Bible by hand stopped in Cirencester last week.
The People's Bible is a joint venture between the Bible Society in England and Wales and the Scottish Bible Society.
The team were at Cirencester Parish Church in West Market Place last Wednesday as part of a UK tour that started at Edinburgh Castle in June and will end at Westminster Abbey in November.
Participants wrote two verses from Genesis to Revelation with a digital pen to create a new copy of the Bible and an online archive of everyone's verses.
Deputy chief executive of the Bible Society, Philip Poole, lives in South Cerney.
"The verses will be bound up in a new bible and presented to the Prince of Wales who completed the first verses of Genesis for our bible," he said.
"We are so pleased that the project stopped in Cirencester because there has been a good turnout and the setting of the parish church makes the event even more special."
