AN ANIMAL rescue centre has seen a surge in wildlife casualties brought in.
Oak and Furrows Wildlife Rescue Centre, in Somerford Keynes, is struggling with a massive surge in demand for its services.
Serena Stevens, who founded the centre, said: "More and more people are phoning up to tell us about wildlife casualties from badgers to birds. We have seen an increase in orphans."
Ms Stevens warned members of the public not to interfere with suspected casualties without careful thought.
"It is not always easy to decide when an animal or bird is in need of rescuing, neither is it as easy as 'leave all babies alone', each case has to be considered carefully and a decision made," she added.
She said anyone in doubt should contact the centre, but in absolutely no circumstances should food or drink be provided for the casualty.
