ELEVEN apprentices working at Nationwide in Swindon saw their hard work rewarded when they successfully completed their apprenticeship programmes in Customer Care.

Cirencester College managed the scheme for the financial services giant. Richard Ashwood, director of Cirencester College’s Business School said: “It is tough to meet the demands of the training programme whilst undertaking full time work but these apprentices have risen to that challenge.

Workplace assessment led to the awarding of the NVQ qualification in customer service.

Rudolf Heaf, head of banking operations at Nationwide said: “Nationwide aspires to be number one in customer service. Therefore we regularly look for development opportunities for our employees to help them deliver great customer service and meet the changing needs of the business. This apprenticeship programme offered a number of core benefits that will help us achieve that.”

Apprentice John Meissner said: “Taking part in the customer service apprenticeship has provided me with the integral knowledge and understanding required for my job role. The course also helped me with my confidence and has been fundamental within the progression of my career within Nationwide.”
