Berks, Bucks & Oxon Premier.

Gosford All Blacks 19, Stow-on-the-Wold 19.

STOW fought back well to gain a last-gasp penalty equaliser but will rue their slow start to the game.

Both sides traded penalties and Gosford took advantage to lead 3-0.

Frustration with the official boiled over when the Stow hooker and Gosford prop were yellow-carded to cool off.

Gosford then charged down a clearance kick, collected the loose ball and scored in the corner for 8-0.

Soon after the re-start Stow reduced the deficit when Ed Fanshaw scored easily after a good sprint down the wing by George Dale and an accurate cross kick by Dan Adams.

The conversion was good to reduce the deficit to 8-7.

Gosford extended the lead to 11-7 after gaining ten metres on a penalty when Stow failed to retreat.

Despite their endeavour and greater ambition, Stow were making too many mistakes. A Gosford kick was fumbled and Gosford recovered the ball to score in the corner.

This Stow side have plenty of fight in them, though, and their competitive pack started winning better ball for the backs who started to run the ball from all areas of the pitch.

Replacement scrum half Tom Davis was next on the scoresheet, sneaking over in the corner to score a well-deserved try for 16-12.

Stow were now in the ascendancy but Gosford got lucky when the Stow backs were punished for crossing in their own 22 and the resulting penalty extended the lead at 19-12.

Stow threw the proverbial kitchen sink at Gosford with Andrew Piercy taking a quick tap penalty before dragging the Gosford defence over the line to score. Adams made the conversion to level the scores 19-19 and the final whistle sounded moments later.
