GLOUCESTERSHIRE residents will have one last chance to express their views about proposed changes to the library service.
A drop-in session has been organised at Cirencester Library on Thursday, January 13, from 10am-1pm.
Further sessions will run at Tewkesbury Library on January 14,10am-1pm; Minchinhampton Library on January 20, 2pm-5pm; and Stroud Library on January 24, 4pm-7pm.
The Friends of Gloucestershire Libraries (FOGL) launched a petition in December last year to protest against proposals by Gloucestershire County Council to change library services as part of plans to save £108 million.
If the changes go ahead it would see service reductions at many libraries across Gloucestershire, and the potential closure of 11 sites unless volunteers from the community step forward to run them.
The sessions are a chance to speak to members of the library senior management team and ask questions. The council is particularly keen to hear from more young people.
There is also an online consultation facility, and more details about the new strategy, at gloucestershire.gov.uk/mtclibraries People have until February 11 to respond.
