A FIRST ever music festival in Lechlade needs £25,000 to ensure it gets off the ground.
The festival, which will take place in Riverside Park, is the brainchild of Cotswold Water Park and Media Eden.
The launch event will be held September 4 this year with the two-day festival planned for April 30-May 1.
But to ensure the inaugural festival goes ahead, £25,000 must be raised in sponsorship by September.
Jennie Rainsford, who runs Media Eden said she is desperate to raise the cash.
"The whole event hangs in the balance of us getting the sponsorship," she said. "We are working as hard as we can to raise it."
The September event will feature just one music stage but at next year's Bank Holiday event there are plans to have up to four stages, a beer festival and a children’s activities area.
If successful, Jennie said the event could be held every year.
"This is a great opportunity for Lechlade, it will bring people to the town and see the great things it has to offer," she added.
"A gorgeous town like Lechlade is crying out for a festival like this."
Anyone who can help sponsor the event should call Media Eden on 01242 579407. Organisers are also asking for volunteers and bands/musicians to also get in touch.
