CIRENCESTER College students have once again broken all records with their A-level results by achieving a incredible 99 percent pass rate, a three percent increase on their record pass rate from last year.

This year, a total of 444 students were entered for A-levels and they achieved an average point score of 268, again an improvement on last year. More than 70 percent of the passes were at A to C grades and no fewer that 35 subjects achieved 100 per cent pass rates across the board.

There were some outstanding achievements, with 11 students achieving four A grades or better and 23 students achieving three A grades or better. Both of the students who gained five A grades, Pamela Dent and Daniel Hudson, came from Deer Park School in Cirencester, before joining Cirencester College. Four students were offered places at Oxbridge and more than 300 have gone on to university this year.

"The results, this year are nothing short of spectacular." said principal Nigel Robbins. "We are very proud of our students and this is abundant evidence that a good college like Cirencester can give students a real choice of subjects but still come up with excellent results as well. It is not surprising that students are willing to travel a long way to benefit from what we have to offer here."

Cirencester College operates its own coach routes from the surrounding area. Details are available from the Finance Office. The next open evening is on Thursday, November 4, from 4-8.30pm. For further details, speak to Kevin Bown on 01285 640994, extension 260.
