A CIRENCESTER security company is helping to combat crime by advertising the Crimestoppers charity on its fleet of vehicles.

CIA Fire and Security in Love Lane has agreed to decorate all its vans and cars with the Crimestoppers logo and phone number in a bid to increase the profile of the service.

It joins Gloucester firm Allcooper, which has also signed up.

Concerned callers can report crimes anonymously through the charity.

Colin Harrison, of CIA, said: "I’m doing this because I fully support the Crimestoppers cause. Our total fleet of 20 vehicles will have the Crimestoppers number on them within the next few days."

The charity guarantees callers safety and anonymity at all times during the call and when investigations are taking place.

Calls to Crimestoppers in Gloucestershire have already resulted in over 1000 arrests since it began in 1995.

Anyone who may be aware of criminal activity can call 0800 555 111 and report the crime anonymously.
