MP James Gray saves rare African Grey parrot

NORTH Wiltshire MP James Gray is appealing for the owners of a rare parrot which flew into his home to come forward and collect their pet.

Mr Gray says a rare African Grey parrot flew into the cherry tree at his house near Corsham last night.

"I was astonished when a rare African Grey parrot flew into our cherry tree at our house near Corsham last night," he said.

"He hopped onto my finger, is extremely affectionate and spent the night in a disused hamster cage.

"I know that he must be a much-loved pet and anyone who can tell me the number on the ring on his leg should ring me on 07831 552529.

"We have alerted the Police, the RSPCA and other authorities, and if his proper owner cannot be found, then we will be happy to give him a good home."
