PUPILS and teachers at Rendcomb College Junior School have been working with police, Gloucestershire Council Council as well as Mr and Mrs Llewellyn-Bowen to help tackle speeding motorists.
Each pupil had to complete a road safety workbook to complete and come up with an operation name for a policing speed operation.
The best ten workbooks were chosen and Laurence Llewellyn-Bowen presented the winning pupils with a certificate for their hard work, at a presentation morning last Monday (June 1).
The collaboration began in January when officers gave a presentation to pupils on road safety issues. This was followed in March by an equipment day when pupils from Years 5 and 6 had the chance to try out police speeding equipment.
Pupils will also be involved in a speed check on the A435 with the South Cotswolds Safer Community Team, when any driver caught speeding will be given a fixed penalty notice and a leaflet designed by the children.
