THE hunting community is mourning the death of a member of the Beaufort Hunt who died on Saturday(DEC27) after being thrown from his horse near Westonbirt.
Dairy farmer David Hall, 73, who had been a member since he was eight, broke his neck when his horse put in a stop before a fence.
The hunt was immediately stopped following the accident just after 1pm and air ambulance paramedics tried, but were unable to save him.
Grandfather Mr Hall, who farmed at Badminton, was a popular figure in the hunting fraternity.
Fellow member Jo Aldridge said: "Hunting was very much his life along with farming. He was very much a man of the countryside."
