AN AID mission to help underprivileged children in the Ukraine is desperately appealing for help to make sure its lorry load of goods reaches its destination.

The Cotswold-Ukraine Aid Link collects boxes clothes, shoes, toys, toothbrushes, and even bikes from all over the Cotswolds throughout the year.

The goodies are shipped out to the Ukraine to be donated in time for Christmas.

This year organisers so far have 45 tonnes of donated goodies to ship abroad but their current premises, a barn in Tarlton, will not be available to them for much longer and a new storage space is needed.

Bleddwn Evans, one of the organisers, said: "We desperately need the generous people of the Cotswolds to help us find new storage space for our work.

"It needs to be dry, secure and preferably with a toilet and a kitchen.

"We realise that space is at a premium at the moment but it's getting quite critical now. People need to think in terms of barns but any space is appreciated.

"Ideally we need it for a six to eight week period. It takes that long to get a lorry packed and sent off."

The charity organisation, which has been running for ten years, has already successfully delivered one lorry load this year.
