STAFF at a stunning Georgian coaching inn have been celebrating after finding out that their gastropub has been named among the best in the UK.

The Methuen Arms in Corsham - which is managed by Butcombe Pubs & Inns - has ranked 86th in the Top 100 Gastropubs list, compiled by Estrella Damm.

Set up in 2009, Estrella Damm Top Gastropubs was created for the purpose of recognising the hard work of those in the pub industry, but also to act as a go-to source for the best pubs to dine in the UK.

The list is created by collecting votes from more than 100 key hospitality industry professionals.

Judges include leaders of pub businesses, editors of media brands and food writers, who are geographically spread across the UK to ensure no regional bias.

The Methuen Arms is a cosy country pub which offers 19 boutique bedrooms, award-winning food and Butcombe beer on tap.

It is situated next to the stately home and beautiful grounds of Corsham Court and currently has a 4.5 out of five rating on Tripadvisor.

James Vincent, general manager at The Methuen Arms, said: “I am thrilled to see our pub recognised among the top 100 Gastropubs in the UK.

"It's a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team, especially our talented kitchen who continually create exciting food for our community.

"This achievement inspires us to keep pushing the boundaries of beautiful pub food and providing a memorable dining experience for our guests.”

Head chef Zac Henderson added: “Estrella Damm’s Top 100 Gastropubs list is hugely respected throughout the industry, and to now be a part of it is an awesome achievement for both me and the team who work extremely hard to execute what we do.

"Stripped back, simple food full of flavour is what we are all about and I’m super excited to build on this success and to see what the future holds here at The Methuen Arms.”
