A ROAD has closed in Lechlade following a crash on a bridge which damaged part of the wall.

The Halfpenny Bridge next to Thames Street in Lechlade was damaged after a collision took place in the early hours of Monday morning (June 19) and is now closed while repairs take place.

Gloucestershire County Council has announced that road works on the bridge will be place until 3.30pm on Wednesday, September 20.

This road closure falls into the council's red zone, meaning delays will be likely. 

Motorists have been advised the plan their journeys accordingly.
