While watching the Coronation service on Saturday I was hit by an attack of nostalgia.
In June 1953 I took part in the late Queen’s Coronation celebrations as a member of the Cirencester Silver Band.
The Band performed as a central part of the event in Cirencester Market place in front of the Church.
Other band members I recall were - Martin Vincent, Terry Caudle, Sid Cook, Brian Giles, Jack Bosworth, Bill? Wheeler,
Bill? Warrener and many more.
I also recall that it was a cold and wet day.
