TWO children from Cirencester wanted to use their birthday party to encourage inclusivity and integration.

Destiny and Harmony Ezewudo-Broadbridge noticed some of their non English speaking friends at school didn’t know what Whitehorse Hill was and wanted to introduce them to this national treasure.

The pair decided to invite 80 guests for a party to gather at Uffington’s Whitehorse Hill, for a day of fun, food and music.

Rosie Broadbridge and Michael Ezewudo, the parents of Destiny, who will be turning eight, and Harmony, who is going to be six, felt that some children's events outside of school had not always included everyone and wanted to change that.

'One love' is the central theme for this event and the girls had invited everyone from their year groups.

Mum Rosie said: “Our children are from a mixed black and white background which empowers us more to help merge the two races together. Mikey has always said 'When you hear Bob Marley - you don’t hear people say oh his mum is white and his dad is black. All you hear is his music which is legendary and he is a great peacemaker.”

Wilts and Gloucestershire Standard:

The pair wanted to emphasise that children are the future leaders of tomorrow and all deserved the same opportunities.

Dad Micheal Ezewudo said: “When I heard that some parents invite only white children or only black children and non-disabled children to their children’s parties - I felt it was time the younger generations have a mind reset.

"Everyone is the same and hopefully this integration will inspire more initiative - offering the opportunity to everyone to witness our national treasure - The White Horse Hill."

The party will be held on Saturday, February 4.
