THE legendary Red Arrows display team will be performing their only show in the Cotswolds this year at the Royal International Air Tattoo.

The Reds are returning from a tour of North America in time for the RIAT weekend at RAF Fairford on July 12-13, as part of the official celebrations marking the 90th anniversary of the Royal Air Force.

They will be joined by aircraft from the RAF's past, present and future to tell the story of the world's oldest air force.

Air Tattoo spokesman Richard Arquati said he was delighted that the Reds would be back from their North American tour in time for the Air Tattoo.

"The Red Arrows are one of the most popular acts we have displaying over the weekend, especially with children.

"And there is always the chance of bumping into the pilots on the public showground over the weekend. It's amazing the number of people I meet who say that their passion for aviation was sparked from first seeing the Red Arrows in action.

"They are a wonderful illustration of the professionalism and dynamism of the Royal Air Force."

The Royal International Air Tattoo is staged annually in support of the Royal Air Force Charitable Trust. For more details, visit www.airtattoo.com
