DETECTIVES investigating an attempted robbery in Swindon have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in relation to this offence.
At 12.44pm on Thursday, April 10 Wiltshire Police received an emergency call reporting a robbery at Walcot Post Office in Sussex Square.
A man entered the store and threatened the staff before leaving the store empty-handed.
He stayed in Sussex Square for a short while and then left in an unknown direction.
The man is described as white, in his late-thirties or early forties and was wearing blue jeans and a black and cream checked shirt.
Investigating the incident, Detective Constable Sam Hopkinson said: "All robberies are frightening for the staff involved and the customers who are in the shop and this one was no different.
"I have released a picture of a man I would like to speak to in connection with the robbery and I hope that someone will know his name or know where he lives.
"As well as identifying this individual I am keen to speak to anyone else who was in the area shortly before or after the robbery.
"Anyone who has information and has not yet come forward I would ask that they contact me."
Witnesses and anyone with information is asked to contact DC Hopkinson on 0845 4087000 or call Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555111.
