Several vehicles have been towed away after being involved in a crash on the A419 south of Cirencester.

The crash on the A419 left a black Land Rover 'on its side' after towing another car.

Emergency services rushed to the scene just before 9am and closed the dual-carriageway nortbound between the White Hart and Commonhead roundabouts for an hour, causing early-morning traffic queues and diversions.

Police have confirmed that a Land Rover Discovery which was towing a Mercedes had collided with a Vauxhall Vivaro just north of the Commonhead Flyover.

One witness who saw the aftermath of the crash posted onto social media: "it was nasty, several vehicles involved and a jeep on its side. Hope all are ok."

Photos of the damaged vehicles waiting for recovery showed the extent of the crash.

You can clearly see the damage to the side of the Land Rover where it was flipped onto its side with dents, scratches and broken windows.

The front of the Vauxhall is crumpled up.

Police confirmed that the ambulance and fire services did attend, but only minor injuries have been reported from everyone involved.

The A419 northbound was closed at the Commonhead junction while the vehicles were recovered but is now back open.
