Helicopter in late night search for fleeing suspects

A POLICE helicopter was scrambled over Cirencester last night searching for two people who fled a car which crashed into a ditch.
The silver Mercedes 500 left the A429 near to the Somerfield store in Cirencester and eyewitnesses told police they saw two men fleeing the vehicle just after the crash at 12.05am.
Officers later arrested a 26-year-old woman on suspicion of drink-driving.
Police spokesman Matt Ford said: "It looks like the car went off the road into a ditch. One of our units on the ground found the woman."
The woman is currently being held at Stroud Police Station.
