IT WAS a poor game between two struggling sides. We were delighted to win but I know full well it just papered over the cracks.

We had three forward players and a lot of possession but I don't think their keeper had a save to make all night.

Nick Stanley works his socks off, but he is there to score or create goals and he had two shots, one from 35 yards and the other from 40 yards.

Oggy should have had a hat-trick but didn't get any shots away and Jon Else, playing just behind the two front men, had one shot.

It is not always easy to play against 10 men. You can keep the ball, no problem, but to break them down and drag them around you have to move the ball quicker that we did.

It was good to have Jacko and Robbo on the bench with me because I could explain to them where we were going wrong and, hopefully, they will be able to put that into action in the next game.

The lads on the pitch tell me Nathan's header in the first half was three yards over the line. Nathan turned away and held his hand up, but the linesman said afterwards there was someone blocking his view and the ref said he couldn't see it either. That's not really good enough.

Their goal looked offside but we weren't defending properly and it was a soft goal to concede given that we had defended well up to that point.

We threw four up at the end and the players reacted very well to keep going and get out of trouble.

I was delighted for Matt Shaxton, who took both his goals very well.

He's a natural right winger but he showed he can play behind the two strikers and his pace put them on the back foot.

I hope the lads get a bit of belief from the win. They should remember the feeling of winning because there is nothing worse than losing.
