A STRAY dog that won the hearts of Malmesbury has been rehomed.

Martha the lurcher, known to most as ‘Blondie’, was adopted on Sunday, August 19, after being placed at Bath Cats and Dogs Home.

Nicola Reynolds, who helped catch Blondie, received an email from the centre informing her of the good news and thanking her for helping change Blondie’s life.

Blondie’s progress has been regularly updated on social media and gripped the community since Sue Franklin first spotted her back on July 11.

Sue first described the dog as ‘painfully thin’ and ‘clearly terrified’.

After receiving expert advice on how on how to catch Blondie, they decided to stay in a small group to gain her trust.

After numerous scares, Blondie’s trust in Sue and Nicola started to build and they managed to catch her almost three weeks later on July 27.

Blondie was taken to a dog warden before being placed at Bath Cats and Dogs Home where she was up for rehoming under her new name Martha.
