NORTHLEACH Steam Show is a traditional country steam show that originally started as a steam rally in the 1950s and ran as the Northleach Steam and Stationary Engine Show from the 1970s to 2000. After a break of 13 years, the show was successfully revived in 2013.

This year’s event takes place on the weekend of September 8 and 9 at Eastington, GL54 3PJ, with steam engines, vintage classic cars, crafts and refreshments available. For more information check out www.northleachsteamshow.co.uk,

THERE is a new bus service to help those who need support with shopping. The bus service Number 72NL collects people from home, takes them to Tesco Extra in Cirencester in the morning and returns them direct to their door.

Places need to be booked in advance by calling 0345 680 5029. For more information please go to info@communityconnexions.org.uk.

Concessionary bus passes can be used on the service which covers Northleach, Eastington, Farmington and Hampnett.

THE Northleach with Eastington floral competition was judged on Saturday, August 4. The judges enjoyed the variety of displays on show and the competition winner and runner up will be announced in the September Parish Magazine.

The high standard of entries was commended by the judges who thanked residents for participating and Fosseway Garden Center for donating the prizes.
