A man who was refused service at a pub for appearing drunk due to suffering from Parkinson's disease is hosting his own Parkinson’s Parties.

Dave Trinder has organised the parties to raise awareness for people suffering with Parkinson’s, and to try and stop people pre-judging others.

He organised the first event in 2016 after being refused service at a pub for appearing drunk due to the disease.

Dave was barged into at the bar and stumbled before recovering his balance.

When he later returned to the bar he was not served because staff mistook his condition for drunkenness.

He organised the fundraiser in response to the incident and is now organising his third fundraiser to take place on Saturday, September 8, at Bingham Hall in Cirencester.

Dave explained: “The concept of the party, is to try and stop people pre-judging others, who suffer from, various neurological conditions, that can make people appear to be something they are not.

“We may look like we are drunk or on drugs, but we are not we are ill.

“As I have Parkinson’s so that is the charity I’m focusing on, and trying to locally raise the profile of and while doing so we all have a great night out.

“Last year's evening raised over a staggering £9.000.

Entertainment comes in the form of D and K Disco, with live music from Sophia Bovell, Parky Blinders and Aron Emir, with 70’s and 80’s music all night.

An auction by Joe Trinder and a raffle will also take place.

Tickets are £10 and can be booked by contacting Dave Bibs Trinder on Facebook or by emailing trinder-david@sky.com.

Dave is also asking for people to get in touch who would donate raffle and auction prizes.
