SUNDAY August 5 marked the conclusion of the South Glos Show for 2018.

The event, that took place at the Westerleigh Showground for its fifth year was hugely supported with thousands of guests attending.

No figure is confirmed, but it is hoped that the event has smashed its 30,000 target, beating last years total of 29,000.

The event on Sunday featured more of the same as the day before, with different musical bands gracing the main playing stage.

There was also shows that received lots of praise from the guests and the public at the event.

More classic cars also turned out at the show on the Sunday, whilst charity stalls still lined the entrance to the event.

The event also sponsors a charity every year, this time around it was the turn of Jessie May.

Helen Mackie, one of the volunteers at the stall during the South Glos show admitted just how 'grateful' the charity was for the chance to be supported at the event.

"It is so important for us at Jessie May that we get the opportunity to do things like this and be at an event like the South Glos Show because we are quite a private charity," she said.

"People don't find us on the high street or at a building because we don't have one. The work we do is mostly done behind closed doors.

"To be here at the South Glos Show not only helps us financially but it also helps us to get the word out about the charity and the work they do.

"We have a giant teddy bear, Goliath, who is drawing in big crowds. It is good to get people talking about the charity and supporting it so Jessie May can continue to provide in home care for families that have received the devastating the news that a child wont live past 19-years-old."
