POLICE officers have come to the rescue of a bride on the way to her own wedding in Cirencester.

Disaster struck when the Rolls Royce, transporting bride Chloe and her party, broke down on Crickley Hill and left them unable to reach the venue.

The driver of the Rolls-Royce informed officers of his prediciment who came out to the incident.

PS Wood and PC Weedon were on their lunch nearby when they heard of the situation on the police system.

Sacrificing their lunch break, the pair came to the rescue picking up the bride and her party and taking them to the wedding at Cripps Barn, and on time.

Cotswolds Police posted their congratulations to the new husband and wife on social media.
