THE youngest ever Fairford town councillor was unanimously co-opted to serve on Fairford Town Council last week, Chris Roberts writes.
Jack Morgan is 18 years old, grew up in Fairford and attended Fairford Primary School before moving abroad with his family.
Currently Jack works at RAF Brize Norton and is very interested in getting involved in helping to influence decisions affecting Fairford’s future.
He is particularly interested in encouraging the younger generation to get more involved in their community and is eager to listen to their ideas, suggestions and concerns.
Another precedent has been set with Jack’s co-option, as his father is John Morgan, who was Mayor of Fairford from 2007-2009.
Although John no longer serves on Fairford Town Council, the father and son relationship is another first for the town council.
There was previously a mother and daughter relationship in Fairford’s unique history when Sarah Roberts joined her mother, former mayor Chris Roberts, on the council in 2009.
Sarah was 26 years old at the time and was then the youngest ever Fairford town councillor.
