A MUCH-LOVED Cirencester cafe will be reopening its doors to the public once again.

Jack's Cafe on Black Jack Street, will be reopening in early September under the guidance and running of caterers Relish.

The cafe has remained empty since the previous tenants left the business in January of this year.

Cotswold District Council, which owns the building, was able to tie up a contact with Relish, with plans to link up with the eateries next door neighbours, the Corinium Museum.

“Cirencester has such a rich Roman history and we want to help celebrate that and combine it with great food,” explained Relish director and chef Rob Goves.

“Jack’s has always been known for good cakes and excellent teas, coffees and refreshments.

"We want to build on that and add in an ice cream bar from Cotswolds Dolcetti and excellent fair trade coffee from Café Direct.

"We carefully choose our suppliers to represent the best in the region and often the country.

"We also produce all of our own food in our Cirencester kitchens.”

"We will be looking to do breakfasts, lunch and even host evening events with the museum, it is an exciting project and we are pleased to be on board."

John Henry, finance partner in the business said: “There are special plans and ideas to transform the secret street that runs behind the café.

"The council and Relish want to open this up and make it more accessible to the public and to the museum, more details will be coming soon.”
