A 12-YEAR-OLD boy from Malmesbury School with a severe disability has launched his own book.

Jonathan Bryan has launched his own book titled Eye Can Write.

Launching the book on Thursday, July 12, at Waterstones Piccadilly, he was joined by the Archbishop of Canterbury who said a prayer.

Jonathan was also joined by famous best-selling children’s author Michael Morpurgo, who read extracts from the book.

Jonathan uses a alphabet board to spell out everything he wants to write and say.

Born with severe cerebral palsy, kidney failure and supplemental oxygen dependency, Jonathan was misdiagnosed as having profound and multiple learning disabilities, despite nobody being able to fully communicate with him.

As a result, he missed out on the education provided to non-disabled children.

But three years ago his mother Chantal began teaching him basic reading, writing and maths, and Jonathan soon made rapid progress.

Prince William and Harry honoured Jonathan after he campaigned for the rights of disabled people to be taught equally.

His Teach Us Too campaign attracted nearly 200,000 signatures to a petition on change.org.

He was one of 20 young people invited to London to receive the award that marked 20 years since Princess Diana died at a ceremony last year.
