Passwords
I HAVE today received a notification from my bank advising me that soon, in order to shop online, I will need a “One time password”.
This will be sent to me via my mobile phone, or failing that by e-mail.
We do not use a mobile phone on a regular basis because we do not get a signal at home.
In addition, the speed of our internet service is such that time sensitive messages can be timed out by the time we get them.
This is a VISA initiative and the banks have no say in it and can give no advice.
VISA customer services are based in the US and will have no concept of communication difficulties in rural UK.
This will impact upon our ability to shop online.
What can be done?
