Parenting

SO MANY times I have witnessed very small children being collected from school by their mothers.

After a day at school, these kids are full of it and wanting to engage mum in their experiences of the day.

They ramble on about the ups and downs, their good or less good experiences and the thrills of this or that.

Where is mum? Several metres ahead.

She is so disconnected to her charge, but well connected to the bane of our lives, the mobile ‘phone.

She is oblivious to the safety and emotional needs of her child.

Some mothers do not deserve children - and children do not deserve such mothers.
