ON a warm, still summer evening Dee Sampson was admiring the beautiful full moon rising into the sky.

She picked up her camera to capture the view and pressed the shutter just as an aeroplane, in tiny silhouetted, flew slowly into shot.

Dee, who lives in Uplands, Stroud, said: "We have views from our house across the valley to the end of Summer Street.

"It was 10.45pm and the full moon rose above the trees in Summer Street – and a plane just happened to fly past at the same time!

"It was probably a one-in-a-million shot, and I imagine the chances of that happening again are very rare!

"I love the full moon and check the date every month to make sure I go outside to see it (except when it is cloudy!).

"The photo has not been filtered or altered in any way – this is how I took it – and the moon was bright orange, as in the photo."
