CIRENCESTER's first annual food festival took place this weekend.

Taking place in the heart of the town on the Market Place and Abbey Grounds, Cirencester Town Council and Cotswold Markets Limited showcased the very best of chefs from the community, producers, and all things foodie.

More than 60 market stalls and pop ups has a vast selection of food and drinks on offer from nearby for visitors on June 30.

A specially constructed cookery theatre with live demonstrations from nearby renowned chefs, live entertainment, fun activities for the kids and a feastival garden were on offer.

The Market Place hosted to a large cookery theatre marquee featuring live demonstrations from nearby notable chefs including Masterchef: The Professional’s Tom Moody and Nick Chappell from the Slaughters Manor House.

With the Abbey Grounds area also featuring a Feastival Garden where food lovers enjoyed hot and cold food, live entertainment and kids’ activities, as well as plenty of market stalls purveying the best produce from the area.

Dave Joynes, managing director, Cotswold Markets said: “We are thrilled to have hosted Cirencester’s first Food Festival in the Market Place and were very happy with how the day went.

"We had over 50 traders, lots of great food & drink and some fantastic cookery demonstrations from local chefs in our cookery theatre.

"Some of our traders had their best trading day yet this year and we are hoping to return with a two day event next year.

"Thank you to all those that attended and to Cirencester Town Council for supporting this event.”
