A CRASH closed one lane on the A419 southbound near Swindon.
The accident involved two cars and closed one of the two lanes between A420 Stratton and the A4259 Coate.
Wiltshire police were on the scene.
There were tailbacks of eight miles.
Earlier delays have now eased but traffic still remains back to the A420 junction.
