Dear Editor

THE Wilts and Gloucestershire Standard should take a visit to the ‘Memorial Recreation Ground’, Tetbury around 9am onwards. Yes, that large space behind St Saviour's Church and the Dolphin Hall, up Hampton Street just before the Chavenage Lane turning.

Did you know that it has a large children’s play area also sports pitches and grounds, unfortunately it seems to be an ideal place for individual’s to take their dog’s ‘walkies’.

The majority keep them on their leads but there are also those who let them run free and leave their ‘droppings’ behind and they are not picked up. Do you know the damage they can do to their own body also the other dogs kept on a lead, and we people also, no! Well look it up - now that would be a good story to tell. Mention the Vet’s bills too.

Also look into who is stopping the small piece of ground adjacent to St Saviour's from being used for burials.

Do Tetbury folk realise that it the only piece of land in the Parish and Town of Tetbury apart from the fields you can see if you look from either side of the ‘Bath Road Bridge’ that can be used for burials, so come on find out and let Tetbury people know, as I am sure the owners of land in the parish of Tetbury Upton, apart, possibly from one, will not let Tetbury use their land for burials.
