UNPAID VOLUNTEERS coordinated with police until 3am to help find a missing Cirencester teenager.

Land search teams from Severn Area Rescue Association (SARA) joined in the search with police officers and helicopters on Monday night.

Three teams from SARA Tewkesbury, Chepstow and Kidderminster plus Gloucestershire Cave Rescue Group all helped in the search.

Seven search parties were believed to be out on the ground, each in a different set of areas coordinated by SARA and the police working together.

Teams were stood down at around 3am and were ready to redeploy again on Tuesday morning when they were informed that the teenager had been found safe and well.

All of Severn Area Rescue Association members are professionally trained unpaid volunteers, with their specialist equipment funded through charitable donations.
