PLASTIC could soon be used to repair our roads should a Lib Dem resolution be approved.
At a Wiltshire Council meeting on Tuesday May 22, councillors referred a Lib Dem resolution to examine using plastics in road repairs and resurfacing, to the council's overview and scrutiny committee for a full review.
Should the resolution go through, 0.5% of the mixture to fix our roads would be made with plastic.
It would result in another positive way that the plastic can be used for, rather than being left to ruin the environment.
Malmesbury Town Cllr Gavin Grant commented: "Wiltshire Council's referral to the council's scrutiny committee of the Lib Dem Council group's resolution on using plastics for road repairs is a very positive step.
"Hopefully we will now get this approach adopted making good use of these plastics to repair roads rather than dumping them and ruining the environment."
