A CIRENCESTER chef has come up with his own tribute to this weekend's Royal Wedding, by creating his Burger Royale.
Head chef of Arkells The Golden Cross Inn, Toby Oliver Refoy, has come up with the recipe combining America and Britain in a perfect marriage of flavours.
It will be on sale this weekend during the wedding of American Meghan Markle and Prince Harry of Windsor.
Toby said: "It is a monumentous occasion and I wanted to do something a little different.
“The hamburger is a renowned American dish and we serve a lot of them here over the weekend – we have the GX burger.
"But we have adapted this for the Royal Wedding weekend to combine British beef with an American Monterey Jack cheese that we have mixed with a British blue cheese that represents the blue blood of the Royal family – it is delicious!”
The pub, on Cirencester’s Black Jack Street will be showing the Royal Wedding in its Stable Bar with cream teas available for all parties.
