COUNTRYFILE presenter Adam Henson, will cut the ribbon to officially unveil significant building work at a primary school next week.

Presenter Adam Henson, born and raised in the Cotswolds, will perform the ribbon cutting duties at Leighterton Primary School, for a grand unveiling on Wednesday, May 23.

The school wants to use the occasion to “Celebrate Our Countryside,” teaching children about heritage, sustainability and ecology.

On the day, the ribbon cutting will take place at 11.15am, followed by Adam, invited guests and parents touring the new classrooms.

Adam will then plant a tree with some of the children before the school host a cream tea party for children, parents, villagers and guests.

Leighterton Primary head teacher, Ms. Meryl Hatfield said: “We are so lucky our children get to establish their learning journey in such a beautiful landscape.

"We wanted to celebrate that by having the children plant fruit trees, which we hope will establish themselves and attract a diverse range of wildlife to the school.

"Not only that, we will be creating a wildflower meadow and each child will be given an oak tree sapling to take home.

"We are also delighted that Adam Henson agreed to come along and officially unveil our fantastic new classrooms.

"I’m sure it’s going to be a wonderful memory for all of our children.”
