It is not known how many vehicles were involved in the accident, or what the conditions of those involved is.
Traffic around the area is continuing to build and drivers are encouraged to seek alternative routes around the congested area.
Currently delays are said to be of arouond 15 minutes and building.
Additionally, lorry drivers are said to be attempting to use roads with weight limits to avoid the traffic which is, according to one Twitter user, 'adding to danger and chaos'.
You need a copper at the top and bottom of the Crickkey/witcombe hill. It’s restricted to 7.5t but the HGV are using it adding danger and chaos.
