FORMER Kempsford School pupil, clarinetist Anna Robinson, is coming back to her roots to perform alongside the Cirencester Male Voice Choir at the Kempsford Royal Wedding Celebrations this Saturday.

As part of the village wide celebrations for the Royal wedding on Saturday, May 19, the 26 year-old will be joining the Cirencester Male Voice Choir for a special concert that will round off a day of family fun festivities.

Originally from Kempsford, Anna Robinson trained first as a clarinetist at the University of Southampton where she graduated with a distinction in a Masters in music performance.

Whilst studying, she played as principal clarinetist with Southampton University Symphony Orchestra where she had the honor of performing Rhapsody in Blue.

Through her music making, Anna has toured to a variety of countries including France, Switzerland, Croatia, Holland and Germany.

She currently works for Southampton Music Hub as a single reed specialist and Musical Director of Southampton Youth Concert Sinfonia.

Anna will be joining the Cirencester Male Voice Choir to perform at the concert. The Choir was formed by its President, Phil Kerton, in 2009, with an aim to provide a place for men of all ages and ability to gather and sing, whilst raising money for good causes in the process.

Anna, who will be accompanied by Myles Tyrell on the night, said: “I am very excited to be performing back in Kempsford for what is set to be a great conclusion to a wonderful day of celebrations.

"It feels very special to be coming back to my roots to play a recital, especially as some of my first ensemble playing took place in the church band in Kempsford church.

"It is even more exciting as the concert is going to be the finale of a wonderful day of celebrations- its quite an honor."

The Grand Finale Celebratory Concert is at St Mary’s Church, Kempsford, Saturday, mAY 19 at 7.30pm.

Interval refreshments will be available.

The event is organised by Kempsford School, Kempsford Village Hall and St Mary’s Church, with support of the Kempsford Parish Council.
