AN AMATEUR dramatic society from Malmesbury has won the Harold Jolliffe One Act Play Festival.

The Athelstan Players bagged first prize in Pewsey with their play Dig for the Diggers by Lynn Brittany.

The society performed brilliantly as Bob Charman won best actor, Megan Mills claimed best supporting actress and Christine Mace won best director.

Together they celebrated winning the Betty Peck Rosebowl for their prized play.

They then performed at the quarter final in Weymouth where Bob Charman won the Best Actor cup.

To cap off their success the The Athelstan Players performed the winning play at the Fringe in Swindon.
